AUSTINTOWN -- Lynn Osting, 67, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023.
Lynn was born April 27, 1956, in Youngstown, the only child of the late Robert and Betty Gonda McClure. From 6 months old, she was reared by her grandparents, the late Manuel and Callie McClure.
Lynn was a 1974 graduate of Struthers High School. In 1977, she attended First Ohio Nursing and received her certification as a certified home health care aide. Lynn had a passion for her work and loved helping the elderly. There wasn't a patient she didn't spoil with love and care. She worked for numerous health care providers in the area, retiring in 2006 after 29 years of service.
She was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, and over the years, supported and donated to Beatitude House. In her free time, Lynn loved to cook, bake and play cards.
Lynn is survived by her son, Robert (Amanda) Smolko of Struthers; and three grandchildren, Landon, Hayden and Olivia Smolko.
Per Lynn's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
Lynn wanted to thank her companion and caregiver, Richard C. Brown, for all of his care; Dr. A.F. Ieraci and his nurse, Robin, whom she couldn't have loved more; Tom McGarry, who's unfailing loyalty and friendship to the family can never be repaid; Boss Richie and Lori at Brown's Pharmacy; and special friend, Pam Brammer-Miner.
