Virginia A. Smith 1941-2023

She was born July 7, 1941, in Youngstown, the daughter of Chuck and Ann Marie Basic Hickey.

Virginia worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital for over 30 years. She started as a candy striper then worked as a ward clerk and up until she retired, she worked in staffing.

She loved to have family gatherings, going out to dinner and watching her CNN to stay on top of things.

Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Brenda (Bob) Romandetti, Chuck (Patti) Smith, Jim (Diane) Smith and Sandy (Bill) Gillie; her grandchildren, Will, Caroline, Anthony, Aaron, Ben and Bobby; a sister, Michele Metzinger; and brothers, Steve, Tom and Chuck Hickey; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Smith; a son, Billy Smith; her parents, Chuck and Ann Hickey; and brothers, Bob and Bill Hickey.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, followed by an 11 a.m. service at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., in Boardman.
