William H. Etherington 1947-2023

He was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of John and Frances Vinarsky Etherington.

He was a 1965 graduate of Girard High School and was employed at Packard Electric for 30 years. Bill was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. He enjoyed gardening , golfing and was an avid Ohio State University football fan. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Lou Luther Etherington, whom he married April 27, 1974; a son, Michael Foley (Kelly) of Niles; two daughters, Patricia Huffman of Warren and Melissa Wimer and her husband, Nik of Niles; two sisters, Carol Kuzman of Girard and Elaine Vesely and her husband, Ron, also of Girard; three grandchildren, Shawn Huffman (Erin), Nathan Wimer and Calyn Wimer and his wife, Pariss; and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Joshua, Liam and Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where the Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Steven Agostino officiating, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery, where Bill will be honored for his military service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
