Steve DiTommaso 1938-2023
HUBBARD — On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, Steve Joseph DiTommaso, age 85, of Hubbard, passed away peacefully at Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family by his side.
He was born May 27, 1938, in Youngstown, to Vito and Susie Pagley DiTommoso.
Steve is survived by his life partner of 49 years, Diana Sippl, and their beloved pet dog, Sadie; daughter, Robbyn DiTommaso Gallite Warnock; grandchildren, Kevin A. Gallite, Krista M. Gallite and Josh (Becky) Warnock; great-grandchildren, Hope Gallite, Jamison Warnock and Cian Warnock; and his sister, Vita DiTommaso Mraulak.
After graduating South High School in 1956, Steve honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a talented musician and an acute businessman. Throughout his life Steve was a member of many bands, including, “Fat Funk,” “Grayson Brothers” and the cherished duo “Steve and Diana,” with his soulmate, Diana. Over his 60-year career, Steve inspired many musicians and left love in the hearts of his audience. Steve was an auto aficionado, and over the years held the title to many classic cars. He also owned several dealerships under the name of “Steve Grayson Motors.” His other businesses included the well known Struthers bar-restaurant, “Grayson Station” and the computer store “Grayson Computers.”
Steve will be forever remembered as “the best” partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin or friend anyone could have. He was always quick with a joke, filling the room with joy and laughter. Steve also had, a big loving heart and helped anyone in need. Steve was also immensely proud of his Italian heritage and large loving family. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, especially during the holidays and Sunday dinners.
Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann (Ray) Serafino, Mary (Alfred “Meatball”) Carfangia and Irene (Joe) Consiglio; brother in-law, Pete Mraulak; sons-in-law, Kevin R. Gallite and Robert S. Warnock; nephews, Michael Consiglio, Chuckie Serafino, Ron Tanner and Randy First; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Adam and Priska Sippl; and brother-in-law, Sieg Sippl.
