AUSTINTOWN -- Daniel J. Repula, 53, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2023, at The Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness.
Daniel was born Dec. 8, 1969, in Youngstown, a son of the late Thomas and Janice Ricks Repula, and lived in the Mahoning Valley for most of his life.
He was a 1987 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and attended the Pittsburgh Art Institute.
Daniel worked as a shop manager and master fabricator for M.A.K. Fabricating in Youngstown for 15 years and was responsible for drafting and fabricating the dam that saved Woodside Lake in Austintown. Daniel was responsible for redesigning and fabricating the new toll booths for the Ohio Turnpike and designed many projects for the oil and gas industries throughout his career.
Mr. Repula was an active member of Holy Apostles Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Church, where he served as an usher during Sunday Mass.
Daniel was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his two brothers, Tom (Tom Foist) Repula of Austintown and John (Donna) Repula of Niles; his sister, Barbara Harkabus of Austintown; nieces and nephews, Eric (Daveen) Dombroski, Alec (Kelsey) Harkabus, Emma Repula, Michael Repula and Jenna Repula; a grand-niece, Lennox; and a grand-nephew, Lincoln.
Daniel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He will always be remembered as a kind and giving man. His final gift was the gift of life through organ donation.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Repula, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023; and his mother, Janice Repula, who died June 30, 2022.
A niece, Andrea Repula, also preceded Daniel in death.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial Mass which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Holy Apostles Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown.
Inurnment will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Daniel's family suggests contributions be made to the Mahoning County Dog Pound, 1230 N. Meridian Road #B, Youngstown, OH 44509.
