BIRDSBORO, Pa. -- Lloyd Charles Day, 87, passed Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023.
Lloyd was born March 12, 1936, the son of Judson Solon Day and Clara Swager Day.
He graduated from Youngstown South High School in 1954. Inducted into the Army, Lloyd served two years at Fort Hood, Texas.
Upon honorable discharge, he worked in the sign shop at Isaly's Dairy until its closing, then as service manager for R&R Mack in Akron. He instructed classes in diesel mechanics at New Castle School of Trades and at TDDS in Lake Milton.
Lloyd was a master mechanic who could fix anything and build anything. He loved teaching and passing on his knowledge to his students. His knowledge and patience produced many skilled craftsmen in the field.
After moving to Birdsboro, he was employed as a mechanical structural technician at Dana Testing Lab, Reading, Pa. Lloyd retired from Weaver Machine Company in East Earl, Pa., in January 2023.
Lloyd was predeceased by wife, Betty Dunkle; and older brother, Judson S. Day Jr. (Darla). He is survived by brothers Frederick Adna Day (Eleanor) and Robert Warren Day (Rae Ellen).
Services have been held. Interment is in Everett Cemetery, Everett, Pa.
