Theodore Cebula 1940-2023
MILWAUKEE — Theodore “Ted” Cebula, formerly of the Youngstown area, passed away at home Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at the age of 82.
Ted was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Youngstown, to George and Helen Hutira Cebula. He was one of four children with older brother George, twin brother Tom and younger brother Ray.
He had a love for science that grew from his father, a physics teacher at Campbell Memorial High School.
Ted married Virginia Flor on Aug. 12,1972, at Notre Dame Church in New Hyde Park, N.Y.
He worked at General Telephone for many years, which brought them to Acton, Mass. In 1974, Ted joined the Science and Business Department at the Milwaukee Public Library, where he worked until his retirement.
In his free time, Ted loved camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. He was very good at fixing just about anything and was always willing to help others.
His greatest joy in life was having a loving wife, three wonderful children and two special grandchildren. He also enjoyed listening to Packers and Brewers games.
Ted is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children, Sharon (David) Wunschel of Richland, Wash., Michael Cebula of Bayside, Wis. and Stephen Cebula of Milwaukee, Wis.; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Maya Wunschel of Richland, Wash. He is also survived by brothers, George Cebula of McCarthy, Alaska, Tom (Lauretta) Cebula of Campbell and Ray (Sondra) Cebula of New Wilmington, Pa.; plus cherished nieces, nephews and their families.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at St. Gregory the Great Church (on 60th and Oklahoma), with Mass to follow at 11 a.m.
