Thomas H. Burdette 1940-2023

Thomas was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Sharon, Pa., a son of the late Edward and Evelyn Greggs Burdette. He graduated from Badger High School in Hartford and received his bachelor of science degree at Mount Union College. He played for the Purple Raiders baseball team while at Mount Union, and it was also there where he met his wife, Autumn.

Thomas served in the Air Force Reserves for six years at the air base in Vienna and had worked as a plastic engineer for General Motors Lordstown plant for over 25 years, retiring in 1991.

He loved baseball and had managed his sons’ baseball teams for 12 years when they were young.

He leaves his wife, the former Autumn Hoover, whom he married July 25, 1964; two sons, Kevin (Nicole) Burdette and Douglas (Stephanie) Burdette of Canfield; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Thomas also leaves his sister, Carol Ann (Theodore) Rhine of Cannon Falls, Minn.

There will be no calling hours or services, per Thomas’ wishes. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 979 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard, OH 44420.
