David P. Semancik 1947-2022
PERRYSBURG — David Paul Semancik,75, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo — our loving brother, husband, father and friend.
He was born in Youngstown, on Jan. 23, 1947, to Marie D. Zetts Semancik and John D. Semancik. He served as a paratrooper in the Vietnam War and was a proud Marine Corps veteran. David was a Cardinal Mooney High School graduate. David earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and a Master of Education degree from The Ohio State University.
He retired from Jeep in 2008. David was a member of the Shriners and the Sylvania Ohio Pyramid Masonic Lodge 287.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anita Packner Semancik; four children, Aristotle Semancik, Tatonia (Timothy) Wells, Aretina Semancik and Joshua (Jonelle) Semancik; grandchildren, Joel Semancik, Jonah Semancik, Madisyn (Kyle) Keifer, Lincoln Semancik, Chelsey (Josh) Butler and Mitchell Wells; his brother, James (Barb) Semancik of Mansfield; and sister, Christine (Albert) Smolko of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack (Elanor) Semancik; and sister, Rita (Jack) Mackey.
David was a fun, loving, family man. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and time outdoors. The most important thing to David was his family. He will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at the Peinert Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St. Whitehouse, OH 43571. A celebration of David’s life will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service.
