Karen Hinkson 1996-2022

YOUNGSTOWN -- Karen "Mimi" Faith Marie Hinkson, 26, passed away at St. Elizabeth Youngtown Hospital from cardiac arrest following a grand mal seizure. She spent her final days surrounded by the love of her friends and family before passing peacefully Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022.

Karen was born August 16, 1996, in Youngstown to a large family filled with love.

She attended Campbell Memorial High School, where she was an active member of the drama club and the National Honor Society. When she wasn't shining on stage, Karen could be found under the Friday night lights, where she showed her school spirit as a cheerleader and majorette.

After graduating in 2014, Karen followed love to Austell, Ga., where she worked as a server and bartender for six years. She made many wonderful memories among the large community of friends and loved ones she found in Georgia, but family was everything to Karen, so ultimately she chose to move back home to be near them.

Upon returning to the Youngstown area nearly two years ago, Karen worked as a shipping handler and porter at UPS in Girard.

Karen is survived by her parents, siblings, niece, nephews, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, as her memory lives on through the limitless love she shared with us all. Although her life was far too short, she made the most of her time on earth by touching the hearts of everyone she met. The unconditional love and generosity that Karen embodied throughout her short life will live on through the 10 lives she saved by choosing to donate her organs.

As per Karen's request, all family and friends are invited to come together at a celebration of life to be announced soon.
