Sr. Mary Kathryn Pillot 1931-2022

VILLA MARIA, Pa. — Sister Mary Kathryn Pillot, H.M., formerly Sr. Philip Neri, 91, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Villa Maria Community Center. Originally from Louisville, she graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School in 1949 and entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in 1950 from St. Louis Parish. She professed her perpetual vows in 1955.

Sr. Mary Kathryn received her RN from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Youngstown, in 1955, and completed her BSN in 1962 from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. She served as an RN at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and was with the Senior Alliance Program at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, Warren in the early 1980s. During the Vietnam War, she provided nursing services and was a surgery supervisor at Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital, Nha Trang, Vietnam, for two years.

The daughter of the late Charles and Laura Malcuit Pillot, and sister of the late Lillian Stonebrook, Carolyn McCauley and Bernice Kendrick, she is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and their families, and her sisters in the Humility of Mary Congregation, with whom she shared her life for 72 years.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Villa Maria Chapel, Villa Maria Pa. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the chapel, prior to Mass. The funeral will be livestreamed.
