Lawrence Wesson 1930-2022

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. Lawrence Wesson, 92, transitioned to eternal rest Friday, July 1, 2022.

Mr. Wesson was born April 21, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Steven Cobb and Eddie Loretta Thomas Wesson.

He was a graduate of South High School and was employed for more than 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. He also worked at the Avalon Inn as a tennis instructor. He loved and taught tennis and had been certified as a tennis pro; however, Lawrence’s passion was his dedication to his wife, whom he loved dearly.

He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life and legacy, his beloved wife, the former Wilma Campbell, whom he married Sept. 1, 1957; a sister, Vivian Strozier; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas E. Wesson; and sister, Stevia Mae Pasley.

Per the wishes of Lawrence, there will be no services. We ask that you keep the family in prayer.

Services of love and dignity entrusted to the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
