Dianna L. Boyd 1955-2022

She was born in Youngstown, to the late Obie Robert and Rosie Lee Smith, on June 28, 1955.

Dianna moved to Columbus in 1990 and attended Mount Period Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the usher board. She was employed at the Riverside Hospital for 30 years and Gateway to Better Living for four years.

Recently moving back to Youngstown, Dianna was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, where she was a member of the deaconess board and served on the pastoral anniversary committee.

Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Obie Robert and Rosie Lee Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of five years, James Leonard Boyd; sons, Robert (ShNell McCall) Backus, Dion (Felica Priee) Backus and Aaron (Jahmesa Masson) Backus; stepchildren, Monica (Tyrone) Traylor, Reshauna Telfair, James Telfair and Isaac Boyd; brothers and sisters, William (Judy) Smith, Robert (Paulett) Smith, Reginald (Rochelle) Smith, Katie (Mark) Murry, Charles (Dee) Gamble and Willowden Gamble; 21 grandchildren; goddaughter, Sy’Era Azahniah Savage; adopted mother, Margaret Rivers; special sisters, Lovetta Rivers and Jackie Rivers (Richardson); special brother, Michael Rivers; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2821 Hillman St., Youngstown, OH 44507. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
