Charles L. Flickinger Jr. 1959-2022

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. Charles L. Flickinger Jr., 63, passed away Friday morning, April 29, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown.

Chuckie was born Feb. 3, 1959, in Youngstown, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Ross Flickinger Sr.

Charles worked as a mechanic and worked for Flynn’s Tire and Auto Service for 15 years, where he loved his job.

He was of Protestant faith.

He was a longtime, dedicated Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loved to cheer them on.

Charles is survived by his wife, Kathy Clark Flickinger; a daughter, Kathy Jo Hoffman of Youngstown; and four sons, Michael Flickinger of Youngstown, Charles (Cassandra) Burrell of Youngstown, Daniel (Brittany) Burrell of Texas and C.J. (Justine) Burrell of Youngstown. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and two sisters, Francis (Tom) Deen of Youngstown and Priscilla Witt of Youngstown. He also leaves many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Jim (Sondra) Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, John, George and Ricky Flickinger.

Funeral services for Charles Flickinger will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Szabo and Sons Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, before the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements have been handled by Szabo and Sons Funeral Home.
