Timothy J. Eichelberger 1972-2022

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Timothy James Eichelberger, 50, passed away under the care of hospice, Sunday April 17, 2022, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Tim grew up in Youngstown and graduated from Chaney High School in 1990. He spent a couple years in the Army as a radar tech before his diagnosis.

His pastimes included playing bass, writing songs and poetry, gardening, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with family and friends.

In 2014, he moved to Midway, Ga., to be near family and enjoy the weather. The last couple years he was a resident of Signature Healthcare in Savannah, Ga., and was described by the staff as a humble and gentle man.

He leaves behind his son, Austin Bayer of Austintown; his mother, Dolores Gasior Eichelberger of Midway, Ga.; his sister, Missie (Jim) Cutlip of Hinesville, Ga.; and his brothers, Walter (Lori) of Canfield and Steve (Marina) of Blackshear, Ga.; as well as three nieces, a nephew and three great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, Ronald; and loving Uncle Dick and Aunt Fran.

At the bequest of Tim and his family, there will be no public calling hours at this time. Arrangement are being handled by Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Hinesville, Ga.
