David Sexton 1963-2022

He was born Aug. 21, 1963, in Orlando, Fla., to Eugene Sexton and Christine Kurty Bundy. David graduated from Jackson Milton High School in 1981.

Following graduation, David joined the Army National Guard, where he was a heavy machine operator. He was very interested in carpentry and became a general contractor during and following his time in the military. He was a general contractor for most of his professional career.

For the last 10 years, David was a long-haul truck driver, hauling cars around the country. In his free time, David loved to do projects around the house. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

David loved to talk, tell stories and crack jokes, as he enjoyed making people laugh. Whether it was fixing things or remodeling houses, David loved to help both friends and family however he could. He always had the time to do something for somebody else and be the hero of the day.

In addition to his mother, Christine Kurty Bundy; and father, Eugene (Debbie) Sexton, David will be greatly missed by his wife, Grace Sexton; daughter, Sarah Sexton; stepchildren, Sarah (Steven) Henne and Ronnie (Savannah) McConnell; siblings, Don (Lori) Sexton, Daryl Sexton, John Sexton, Marla (James) Watson, Beth Sexton and Peter (Cathy) Sexton; grandchildren, Adley and Emmett Henne; sister-in-law, Patty (Matt) Metzler; and numerous extended family and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at St. Michael Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, OH 44509. A celebration of David’s life will follow.
