Thomas M. Tomko 1961-2022
ORLANDO, Fla. — Thomas M. Tomko, 60, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife and children.
Born in 1961 in Youngstown, to Thomas and Lorraine Lauzon Tomko, Thomas was known by “Tod” to his family and “Tom” by his friends and coworkers. Mr. Tomko graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1979 and The Ohio State University in 1986 with Bachelor of Science degrees in engineering physics and electrical engineering.
Mr. Tomko worked for the Department of Defense for over 33 years, receiving countless awards and recognitions, including being presented the flag that was flown over the White House on his day of retirement in January 2020. He also consulted for KBR in Orlando.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Walsh Tomko; and their children, Thomas Tomko and Kali (Henry) Beauchamp; and twin sisters, Ellen (Tom) Kiddy and Elaine (Don) Noonan.
