Stephen F. Pechatsko 1943-2022

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — Stephen F. Pechatsko, 78, formerly of Canfield, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born March 27, 1943, in Hays Patch, Uniontown, Pa., a son of the late John and Rose Checkel Pechatsko. He was a 1961 graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School.

Steve worked for General Motors at the Lordstown plant for 32 years, retiring in December 2003. After his retirement, he remained active by working for Greenwood Chevrolet, and after relocating to Ooltewah, worked for Belk as a support associate.

Steve enjoyed doing home renovations and do-it-yourself projects. He loved working out in the yard and landscaping work. He was known for having the best lawn in the neighborhood.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Elaine R. Gunyula Pechatsko, whom he married Aug. 1, 1981; five devoted children, Tammy Deak of North Jackson, Steve Pechatsko of Youngstown, Anthony (Kristan) Pechatsko of Strongsville, Christopher (Michelle) Pechatsko of Austintown and Heather Pechatsko of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Thomas and Alyssa Deak, Halee Pechatsko, Katelynn and Quinn Pechatsko, and Alexandria Pechatsko; four sisters, Helen Gardiner, Michele Danega, Rosemary Homer and Roberta Alborg; two brothers, Dave Pechatsko and Joe (Shirley) Pechatsko; and many extended family members.

Besides his parents, four brothers, Tom, Mike, Andrew and John Pechatsko; four brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law, are deceased.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown.

Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.

Stephen’s family would like to thank the Hearth Hospice staff for the kindness shown and compassionate care given to Stephen.
