Frederick W. Deckant 1962-2022
HOMOSASSA, Fla. — Frederick W. Deckant, 59, formerly of Columbiana, died Thursday, March 3, 2022, following a brief illness.
He was born July 8, 1962, in Youngstown, the fourth son of Norman and Joann Martin Deckant. He was a 1981 graduate of East Palestine High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 to 1986 aboard the USS Fletcher, and was stationed for a time in San Diego, Calif. He lived in Charlotte, N.C. from 1986 to 1994, and then moved to Homosassa.
He was employed as a tractor-trailer operator in the construction trade in Florida for many years. He was an ardent fan of NASCAR racing.
He leaves his father, with whom he shared his home; and two brothers, Gary of Boardman and Lawrence (Linda) of North Lima.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Michael.
There will be no services or calling hours.
