Janet K. Elias 1943-2022

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Janet Kay Terlecki Elias, 78, formerly of Austintown, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Aventine Senior Living at The Rose.

She was born on July 26, 1943, in Youngstown, to John and Emma Kathryn Terlecki, both of whom are deceased.

She was a 1961 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and a 1965 graduate of Youngstown University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married the love of her life, William Edward “Bill” Elias, on June 26, 1965.

Janet worked as a special education teacher at Mineral Ridge Middle School, retiring after 32 years of service. After retirement, she continued to substitute teach in the Weathersfield School District. During her teaching career, she was loved by her students and colleagues alike.

Janet was a member of St. Joseph’s Church who, in retirement, loved playing tennis, pickleball, exercising, going for long walks, reading, living in Florida during the winter months, and spending time with her husband, family (especially her grandson) and friends. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and had a particular affinity for fast cars.

Janet leaves behind her daughter, Holly Krohn, son-in-law, Marc Krohn and grandson, Brandon Krohn; son, Christopher Elias; brother, David Terlecki and sister-in-law, Bonnie Terlecki; sister-in-law, Darla Terlecki; brother-in-law, Michael Elias and sister-in-law, Judith Elias; nieces, Megan Hebert, Jennifer Wilson, Lori Elias, Kim Richardson and Christine Pacella; nephews, Bob Pacella, Jeremy Terlecki, Jason Wilson and David Terlecki; aunt, Lucille Elias and uncle, George Grein; and a host of other loving family and friends, whom she cherished.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, William Elias; sister, Barbara Limberty; and brother, Jack Terlecki.

There will be no services held.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
