Carroll I. Necko 1932-2022

YOUNGSTOWN — Carroll Isabel Necko, 89, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 16, 2022, at Briarfield Manor, with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Necko was born Tuesday, April 12, 1932,in Youngstown, a daughter of Edward and Edna Carroll Dixon, and was a lifelong member of the community.

Mrs. Necko held a variety of jobs as she worked for Republic Rubber in the office, Strouss Department Store in the billing department and Ohio Bell as a long-distance operator.

She was a member of St. Edward Parish, a 1951 graduate of Ursuline High School, loved her dogs, and collected lighthouses and blue dishes.

Mrs. Necko leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of more than 66 years, John S. Necko, whom she married Oct. 1, 1955; sons, John M. (Raquel) Necko of Long Beach, Calif., Jeffrey Necko of Youngstown; daughter, Carroll (John) Muska of South Amherst; grandchildren, Jenna (Nate) Portik, Grace Muska and Bekah Muska, Jackson Cruz Necko, Benjamin Cruz Necko, Kaleb Cruz Necko and Kenji Cruz Necko; and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Hazel.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Necko was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and David McKnight.

The family will receive relatives and friends 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at St. Edward Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin.

The family and funeral home are requesting that you please wear a mask if you are able and to maintain social distancing. Thank you.
