Jean A. Adair 1945-2021

BELLE VERNON, Pa. — Jean A. Adair, 76, passed away peacefully 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at the residence following an extended illness.

Jean was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Warren, the daughter of Kenneth and Anna Mae Hood Garland and was raised in Trumbull County.

Jean and William moved to Belle Vernon in 2014 to live with their daughter.

Jean was a 1963 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and furthered her education at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. For many years during the 1980s, she was employed as a registered nurse for Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles.

Jean especially enjoyed gardening, traveling and the many family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and extended family.

She was a member of St. Stephen Church, Niles.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Adair, with whom she lived; a son, William (Rae) Adair of Fayette, Mo.; two grandchildren, Devin Adair and Isabella Adair; a brother, Dale (Sandra) Garland of Champion; and two nephews, Todd Garland and Greg Garland.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William E. Adair, whom she married on Oct. 29, 1966, and who died Oct. 14, 2017.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at St. Stephen Church, Niles, with the Rev. Richard Murphy officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles.

Burial will follow at Kerr Cemetery.
