Alice V. Morris 1924-2021

MINERAL RIDGE — Alice Virginia Morris, 97, of Mineral Ridge, entered peacefully into eternal life Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at 9:30 p.m. in the intermediate intensive care unit at Mercy Health St. Joseph Warren Hospital following complications from COVID-19.

She was born May 10, 1924, in Niles, the daughter of the late Howard and Edna Brooks Welsh and was a lifelong area resident.

Alice was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and was mostly a homemaker and caregiver. For a number of years, she was employed by Human Services of Mahoning County as an income maintenance case worker, retiring in 1984.

Mrs. Morris was an avid collector of antique furniture and Victorian artifacts and often enjoyed photographing historical buildings.

Alice was a longtime and oldest member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Opal Chapter and the Meander Mothers CCL.

Surviving her are her three children, Glenna (Franklin) Palmer of Youngstown, Mark Morris of Mineral Ridge, and Bruce (Debbie) Morris of Niles; a sister, Carol Moore of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Holly, Brian, Jeremy, Megan, Michael, and Jeremiah; and by two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Hudson.

Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Glen L. Morris, who passed Feb. 14, 2005; and by a brother, Terry Grove.

A private Funeral Service will take place Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, in the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Maurer officiating.

Burial will take place in Kerr Cemetery, Weathersfield Township.
