Wanda L. Thompson 1962-2021

Wanda was born Aug. 27, 1962, in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles and Irma Anderson Colby. Wanda was a Struthers High School graduate. She received an accounting degree at Trumbull Business College. Wanda was a member of the Girard Eagles Women’s Auxiliary and bowling leagues.

Wanda enjoyed shopping, dancing and singing karaoke. But most of all, Wanda enjoyed caring for her children.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 21 years, David Thompson, whom she married March 18, 2000; her children, William and Jamie Watt, Tyler, Bryan and Aerie; stepchildren, Christopher, David Daniel and Timothy Thompson; grandchildren, David, Noah, Chris, Jayden and Callie; mother, Irma Colby of Girard; brother, Charles (John) Colby of Poland; and sister-in-law, Annette (Don) Missik of Lake Milton.

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Colby, who passed away May 30, 2007.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 8 p.m., at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
