June Rae Braun 1936-2021
HOWLAND — June Rae Braun, 84, passed away peacefully at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at her home, with her family at her bedside.
She was born in Warren, on Nov. 20, 1936, the daughter of Howard L. and Jayne Rader Olson.
June was a 1954 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 50-year member of the Niles First United Methodist Church.
She retired in September 1999, after 26 years as a claims adjustor for the Ohio Carpenters Health and Welfare Company. Following retirement, June and her husband spent many winters at their home in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. June was a volunteer for the Trumbull Mobile Meals for the past eight years and was a member of the Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters.
June is survived by three children, Raymond W. (Theresa) Braun Sr. of Holland, Ohio, James L. (Lisa) Braun of Blythewood, S.C. and Rebecca J.(Matthew) Edwards of Howland; five grandchildren, Hillary Braun, Raymond Braun Jr., William (Emily) Braun, Rachel (Matthew) Pierce and Logan Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Grace and James Braun; two sisters, Sondra (Allen) Woodhouse of Merrillville, Ind., and Karen Zavasnik of Howland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Braun, whom she married Jan. 17, 1957, and who died Nov. 6, 2012; and her brother, Richard K. Olson.
Private funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, with burial in Kerr Cemetery.
