Eileen A. McClay Felton 1953-2021

DALLAS — Eileen Ann McClay Felton, 67, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Her loving husband and best friend for 27-plus years, Mark Felton, was by her side.

Eileen was born in Youngstown, on Dec. 11, 1953, to George McClay Sr. and Estelle Harkey McClay. She graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1971, received her LPN from Hannah Mullins School of Nursing, and her RN / CCRN from Purdue University Northwest, Ind.

Eileen dedicated herself to hands-on nursing for 45-plus years, including significant time providing compassionate care for patients at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City, Ind., and LifeCare Hospital, Plano, Texas.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara McClay; and brother, George McClay Jr.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Felton, with whom Eileen moved to Plano, Texas in 2006 and they spent 15-plus years together enjoying the experience of living in God’s country. She is also survived by daughter, Barbara Bates; granddaughters, Erin and Emily of Indianapolis, Ind.; son, Brandon Bates; daughter-in-law, Jenny; grandsons, Connor and Shane of Fishers, Ind.; sister, Donna McClay of Venice, Fla.; sister, Alice McClay Felden, and brother-in-law, Dave Felden of Boardman; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held for Eileen.
