Donald G. Weber 1927-2021

ORLANDO, Fla. — Donald “Jitterbug,” “Doc” G. Weber, 93, peacefully passed away while listening to Glenn Miller and some boogie woogie music, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Advent Health Hospital, Orlando.

He was born 3 pounds, 12 ounces in Youngstown, to the late Florence Denton and Gilbert Weber.

He was the husband of the late Dolores Cummings of 56 years, who passed away in 2006.

Don served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II Pacific Theater as part of the Occupational Forces in Japan. He learned to speak Japanese and could still remember some of it earlier this year. He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines in Youngstown until 1962, then moved to the Washington, D.C., area working for Gray line Bus Lines until 1976, and moving to Orlando, continuing to work in the tourist transportation industry. He loved flying, even though he crashed. He and Dolores always had a wonderful garden. He enjoyed reading histories and visiting museums, as well as going to art shows and the beach with Dolores. He spent many hours enjoying the amusement parks with grandkids, exercising with Silver Sneaker friends at the Dr. Phillips YMCA, and walking many miles daily, but his passion was dancing, which he did with many lovely partners at the Marks Street Senior Center.

Left to cherish his memories are his three children, Debby (John) Paisie of Mt. Airy, Md., Don (Kim) Weber of Orlando and Diane Keister of Falls Church, Va.; 12 grandchildren, Charles Paisie, Janlyn Paisie (Jake) Eikenberg, Alma Weber (Brandon) Langford, Michael Weber, Daniel Weber, Christopher (Holle) Weber, Annie Weber, Stephanie Weber (fiance Brandon), Meahghan Weber (fiance Katia), Katie Weber, David Weber and Kelly Keister (Jason) Oehlschlager; and 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He also leaves aunts, Della Valentine and Marilyn Hamill of Florida, who were like sisters to him; stepsister, Shirley Houk of Strongsville; stepbrother, Fred (Phyllis) Denton of Columbiana; brother-in-law, George (Jackie) Cummings of Canfield; nieces, Patty (Bill) Dorman and Kathy Shambora of Florida; plus many cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, Vester Denton; grandfather that raised him, Ed Hamill; grandson, Jonathan Weber; granddaughter, Morgan Weber; stepsister, Estelle (Denton) Hutta-Scott; and sister-in-law, Roberta Cummings Dobony.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, in Orlando. Burial will be in Quantico National Veterans Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
