Joseph J. Mlynarski Sr. 1944-2021

LIBERTY — Joseph John Mlynarski Sr., 76, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Joseph was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Niles, to Alexander and Helen Turowski Mlynarski. He graduated from Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University. At age 23, he was drafted into the Army, in which he served as a combat medic in the Vietnam War. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree of Girard Council and also the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. He was a postal carrier for 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Rosemary; son, Joe (Michele); and daughter, Michele. Joseph was a proud grandfather to four grandkids, Haley, Katie, Ryan and Jimmy. He also is survived by his sister, MaryAnn Mlynarski.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Helen Mlynarski.

Family and friends will gather 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Schiavone Funeral Home, with a prayer service to follow. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Box 24365, Cleveland, OH 44124 or to another cause dear to his heart, the Multiple Sclerosis Youngstown Chapter, due to his wife Rosemary living with the disease.
