Francis A. DeGeorge 1940-2021

BARTLETT, Tenn. -- Francis "Joe" Anthony DeGeorge, 80, died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, after a brief illness.

Joe was born July 8, 1940, in Youngstown, to Frank DeGeorge and Concetta Marchese.

He attended Youngstown State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1966.

Joe coached youth football for many years. Joe was active at St. Ann Catholic Church and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Joe is survived by his wife of 16 years, Melody Smith; children, Mark (Janeen) DeGeorge, Michelle (Todd) Jones, Michael (Maria) DeGeorge and Adrian Smith; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) DeGeorge, Kolby (Kelsey) DeGeorge, Adam Jones, Dylan DeGeorge, Jon (Amanda) Plotkin and Michelle Plotkin; one great-granddaughter, Mia; brothers, Robert DeGeorge and James (Angel) DeGeorge; and countless nieces, nephews and other family members. Joe also had two fur babies, Tucker and Muffy, whom he loved dearly.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Elena DeGeorge, Patricia Jones and Carolyn DeGeorge.

Services have taken place in Tennessee with arrangements by High Point Funeral Home & Crematorium.
