Mary Markulin 1961-2021

Mary was born Sept. 15, 1961, in Croatia, a daughter of Mijo and Mara Medved Markulin.

She graduated with honors from Rayen High School in 1979 and had attended Youngstown State University. She was the All-City Chess Champion in 1978 and enjoyed reading, playing cards and chess, and she volunteered at Northside Hospital in the gift shop.

Mary was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church in Youngstown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Jana, and brother-in-law, Boze Strikic, nephew, Bozidar, and niece, Adriana, all of Macedonia; brother, Ivan, and sister-in-law, Katarina Markulin, niece, Ivana, and nephew, Mark, of Mentor; brother, Luka, and sister-in-law, Danica Markulin, and nephews, Luka Jr., and Daniel, of Warren.

Private graveside services were held for Mary in Belmont Park Cemetery, where she was laid to rest besides her parents.
