Mary H. Finn 1928-2021

LIBERTY — Mrs. Mary H. Finn, 98, passed away Friday morning, May 7, 2021, at her residence.

Mary was born April 1, 1928, in Youngstown, a daughter of Mike and Mary Vinduley Harasym.

She worked at Paramount Theatre as a ticket taker and worked as a riveter for Trust Con during World War II.

She graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1962 and returned for her Master of Science degree in education in 1971. She taught school at St. Anthony’s, Grant, Jefferson, Washington and West Elementary schools.

Mary’s greatest pleasures were gardening, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her son, Thomas (Denise) Finn III of Poland; and a daughter, Marilyn (Jeff) Leamer of Liberty Township. She also leaves her grandchildren, Thomas (Yvette) Finn IV, John (Sharon) Finn, Melissa Finn, Patrick (Kristin) Finn, Edward Leamer and Jennifer (Joshua) Peyer. She also has five great-grandchildren, Tom (Kate) Finn, Hailey Finn, Carter Finn, Matthew Finn and Owen Leamer.

Mary married her husband, Thomas J. Finn, on March 27, 1944. He passed away Oct. 16, 2009. She also was preceded in death by her six brothers, Steve, Al, John, Mike, Charles and Nick.

Services for Mary will be noon Friday, May 14, 2021, at Szabo and Sons Funeral Home. Family and friends may call 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home before the service.

During calling hours and the funeral, social distancing and masks requirements will be followed.

Arrangements have been handled by Szabo and Sons Funeral Home.
