Gary Day 1951-2021

He was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Youngstown, the son of John and Carmella Christopher Day.

Gary was married to Marsha Adams on Jan. 17, 1978; they shared a lifetime of adventures, residing in Girard until her passing in 2014.

He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1969, after which he served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army.

Gary had a diverse career, including as a dairy farmer in Utah and machinist for Parker-Hannifin in Youngstown. Later, he met and fell in love with Ann King of Hudson, who was his companion until his death. Gary enjoyed spending time with his pet dogs, hiking in the national parks, and attending rock and roll concerts.

He is survived by his loving partner, Ann; stepsons, James and Joseph Whittingham; brother, Dennis (Cynthia) Day; sister-in-law, Anne Day; granddaughter, Hailey Whittingham; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; and his brother, John Day Jr.
