Trent A. Swan 2000-2021

AUSTINTOWN — Trent Alexander Swan, 20, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, April 13, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

He was born April 18, 2000, in Youngstown, the son of Kevin A. Swan and Tricia D. Barnett.

Trent was a 2018 graduate of Ursuline High School and attended Youngstown State University. He worked in the parts department at the AutoZone in Liberty and was a personal shopper at the Giant Eagle in Canfield. He loved working on cars and was especially proud of his 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. He was a video gamer, enjoyed Marvel Comics, Deadpool, watching anime, fishing and all types of animals. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and, as a young boy, he went dog-sled racing. Most of all, Trent cherished the time spent with his loving family.

Trent is survived by his mother, Tricia D. (James) Barnett Smith of Liberty Township; father, Kevin A. (Carrie) Swan of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandfather, David C. Barnett of Austintown, with whom he resided; grandparents, Joey and Valerie Swan of Hudson, Fla.; sisters, Alyson (Chad Smathers) Smith of Girard and Jaclyn Swan of Cortland; two nephews, Deklan and Axel; niece, Adalia; and cousin, Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Karen Barnett and great-grandmother, Mary Minick, who babysat him as a youngster; and his beloved cat, Smokey.

Calling hours will 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at Boardman Baptist Church, 1207 Shields Road, Youngstown, OH 44511. The funeral will be at noon Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the church, where family and friends also may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Wayne Wyble will officiate. Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery.
