Shirley M. Parm 1941-2021

HUBBARD — Shirley M. Parm, 79, departed this life Monday April 5, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Parm was born Dec. 4, 1941, in Jamaica, West Indies, a daughter of Kenneth Hutchinson and Edna Ford.

During her marriage to Harold Parm, they adopted a son, Douglas. After a few years, Harold passed, and later she also adopted her daughter, Marva.

She was a seamstress who loved sewing and was employed for Weatherbee Coats Inc. and Towel Supply Company for many years. She was passionate about her job and skill set.

She not only thought about herself, but she was very thoughtful of others to the point where she sponsored many family members to the U.S. and would do anything for those in need. She was a no-nonsense kind of person who could make you laugh with her stories, but when she gives you that look, you knew exactly what time of day it is!

She was a proud, classy woman who was well put together. She had such impeccable taste in fashion and made many of her own clothing and clothing for others as well.

The last few years have been tough, as Shirley struggled with her medical conditions. It’s sad to see her go, but she is no longer in pain and is in a better place.

She leaves to mourn her passing, Douglas Parm and family, Marva (Ezell) Heriot, Hank Tomlin; siblings, Doreen Dixon and Barrington Hutchinson; nieces, Annmarie and family, Audrey and family; nephews, Barry and Anthony; her sister-in-law; Patricia Hutchinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Parm; and her parents, Steve Hutchinson and Dorett Hutchinson.
