Russell Greenslade 1941-2021

Russell was born July 20, 1941, in Penzance Cornwall, England, a son of Eric and Hilda Sheriff Greenslade. He received his master’s degree at the Central School of Arts in London.

Russell was an art and design teacher at the University of Cardiff, Wales, and moved to the United States in 1978. Russell was a remarkable artist with a talent for making extraordinary art pieces. In his spare time, Russell enjoyed sailing, reading and traveling.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Sue Anne Warden Greenslade, whom he married Dec. 27, 1975; his children, Abigail (Steven) Kraft of Medford, Ore., Katie (Jon) Merrill and Cara Greenslade, both of Girard; sister, Barbara Woolcock of Shropshire, England; and grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob and Lucy Merrill and Oliver and Augustus Kraft.

Besides his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Williams.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 3, 2021, at 6 p.m., at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
