Allison J. Pakosta 1972-2021

CAMBRIDGE — Allison J. Pakosta, 48, died peacefully in her sleep, Friday, April 2, 2021, at her home.

Born Sept. 9, 1972 in Chicago, Allison graduated from Boardman High School in 1991. She resided in Cambridge for the past 10 years.

Allison’s greatest joy was writing poetry and creating art. Allison shared her cheerful personality with anyone and everyone. She held a special place in her heart for those in need, routinely making lifelong friends with those she met. Quite simply, Allison loved everyone. With an almost uncanny sense of time and space, Allison could remember the dates of birthdays, anniversaries and special family moments. Allison took great pride in her family and their accomplishments.

Allison was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Marian Kortanek of Skokie, Ill., and Oldrich and Gertrude Pakosta of Algonquin, Ill.; and an aunt, Irene Kortanek of Pittsburgh.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Joyce Pakosta of Columbiana; a sister, Sheryl (Lindsey) Loftus; two nephews, Timothy Loftus and Daniel Loftus; an uncle, Ken Kortanek; a cousin, Steve (Alison) Kortanek; and her boyfriend, Eric Bowers. Allison is also survived by her biological family, whom she recently found, father, Tim (Denise) Smith; and half-brothers, John Smith, George Smith and Jesse Jacob.

No calling hours will be observed due to COVID-19 restrictions. A private memorial will be planned in late summer at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, where her ashes will be placed.
