Marion S. Dickey 1925-2021

VIENNA — Marion S. Dickey, of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley in Girard. She was 95.

Marion was born June 4, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Alfred and Theresa Zoccolia Speerbrecher.

She was a graduate of Scienceville High School in Youngstown. Following high school, Marion attended Youngstown College School of Business where she was a member of the Tau Kappa Nu Sorority.

Mrs. Dickey was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Liberty where she was employed as the secretary for many years and was involved in the church women’s circle. She was also the treasurer for the Mathews Band Boosters for many years and a volunteer at the National Kidney Foundation Thrift Store in Cape Coral. In her spare time, Marion enjoyed reading and working on crafts.

Her husband, Carl E. Dickey, whom she married Jan. 26, 1946, passed away on May 6, 1999.

She is survived by three sons, William P. (Pam) Dickey of Brookfield, Michael (Angie) A. Dickey of Liberty and Robert C. Dickey of Springfield, Tenn.; a daughter, Kathleen (Felix) Lopez of Vienna; five grandchildren, David Lopez, Jennifer Lopez, Jared (Marcie) Dickey, Beth (William) Nicholas and Jason (Jessica) Dickey; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was preceded in death by a brother, John Speerbrecher; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Dickey; and a grandson, Robert Dickey.

A funeral service will be on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at 11 a.m. at New Life Lutheran Church, 1181 Churchill Hubbard Road, Youngstown, OH 44505. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
