CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Joseph A. Ziemianski, 88, was called from this earth Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.
Joe was a loving husband to wife Margaret, nee Kling, for 62 years; a father to Kathleen, Martin and Suzanne; and a doting grandfather / great-grandfather of 13.
Born to John and Helen in Youngstown, Joe had two brothers: twin, Jack and younger brother, Tom.
He graduated from Ursuline High School and Youngstown (State) University. Joe began his engineering career with Goodyear Aerospace. In 1963, Joe was recruited by the NASA space program, where he worked until retiring in 1995. His notable achievements included working as a project engineer on the Viking mission to Mars (1975), earning an MBA (1984), winning the prestigious Collier Trophy (1987), and receiving the rank of Meritorious Executive from President Reagan (1988).
Joe was passionate about golf, his Cleveland Browns and Indians, traveling, woodworking, painting and most of all his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock, Colo.
