Jean Marie Rennolds 1928-2021

YOUNGSTOWN — Jean Marie Rennolds, 92, was born on June 27, 1928, in Mexia, Texas and passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021.

Jean was the only child of Leland M. Rennolds and Jeannie May St. Louis Rennolds.

A graduate of the University of California and Hofstra University. Jean taught remedial reading for 17 years, mainly in Long Island, N.Y.

After retirement, she obtained a degree from the Unity Ministerial School in Unity Village, Mo. and served several Unity Churches in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Ohio, mainly as a teacher of spiritual subjects. Jean retired completely in 1989, due to her failing vision. In the meanwhile, she had become active in the ICU Blockwatch Group on the South Side of Youngstown. Jean was a member of the Unity Spiritual Center in Girard.

Jean leaves to cherish her memories, Michael and Victoria Allen, Cherry Robinson and Sir Watkins, Ashley Robinson, Kendra Allen and Ashanti Allen.

Special thanks to Ms. Jean’s Angels, her very own personal care team, Kendra Allen, Taknia Williams, Chardia Lightfoot and Sandra Bowman. Thanks to her very own personal security officers of the Youngstown Police Department, Robert Giovanni and Phil Skowron.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Jeannie May St. Louis Rennolds; and her beloved dog, Niner.

Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Unity Spiritual Center, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Girard, where a public viewing will be held at noon and a private celebration of life will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken. The 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests are expected to wear a mask at all times while at church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
