Albert V. Wilkes 1933-2021
BOARDMAN — In loving memory of Albert Vincent Wilkes, 87, who passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 13, 2021, due to complications of COVID-19.
Albert was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Diamond, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Lillian Cacivilano Wilkes.
He was a 1951 graduate of East High School and a Navy veteran, who served aboard the USS Cambria APA-36. He spent most of his life working for Ohio Bell, until he retired.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, singing in the Penn Ohio Barbershop Chorus, having breakfast every morning at the Yankee Kitchen with his friends and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his daughter, Colleen (Fred) Mercado; son, Devin (Jeanette) Wilkes; and son, Casey (Amy) Wilkes. He also leaves his grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer) Ackerman, Eric (Jada) Ackerman, Arin (Joe) Nezdoba, Arianne Ackerman, Devin Wilkes Jr., Addison Wilkes and Taylor and Connor Kleinknecht; and great-grandchildren, Jaden, Gary and John. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Shirley Morvay, Lillian Brown and Adeline Dipasqua; and brother, Ralph Wilkes. He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joseph and Gene Wilkes; and his son, Shawn Wilkes.
No services will be held due to COVID-19 restrictions.
