Thomas J. Calvaruso 1950-2020

WARREN — Thomas James “Tom” Calvaruso passed away peacefully at his home in the morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020.
Born June 11, 1950, Tom lived 70 fulfilled years as a father, husband, brother, son, friend and solid rock of an individual.
Tom received his Master of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from Youngstown State University and spent 30 years working for Packard Electric-General Motors Corporation. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed working on vehicles from his own collection as well as those of his family and friends.
Tom had a witty and cunning sense of humor that made him a joy to be around, while being steadfast in his principles and willingness to help those close to him. He was known as the neighborhood math tutor for many years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Dick Calvaruso of Struthers.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys. He had two wonderful daughters, Lisa (Shawn) Baxter and Tracy (Doug) Thomas, whom he shared raising with Joyce Calvaruso.
He was a loving brother to Kathy Damato (Don Smiley) and Dick (Marlene) Calvaruso. Beyond the shining pride in his daughters, he reveled as “Grandpa” to Shawn Jr., Ashley and Alex Baxter and Andrew Thomas and as “Great-Grandpa” to James Justice.
In his final days, he was warmed by the care and comfort of Debbie Page and Alinez Rogers.
Per Tom’s request, there will be no services.
