Gloria J. Gutierrez 1943-2020

CANFIELD — Gloria J. Gutierrez, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Gloria was born April 24, 1943, in Youngstown, a daughter of Henry and Lupe Losiewicz. She was a 1962 graduate of The Rayen High School, and later Penn-Ohio College, where she earned her Certificate in PBX Switchboard and Receptionist.
She worked at Packard Electric Company, was a switchboard operator at a local bank, an elevator operator in a downtown Youngstown bank, and worked for decades in retail sales, including Livingston’s, The Joseph Horne Co. and Dillard’s.
She was a member of St. Charles Church, and was a volunteer for the Mahoning County Democratic Party and a volunteer girls softball coach for Boardman Athletics, where she coached her daughter, as well.
Gloria enjoyed cooking, fashion and decorating. She took joy in her many travels to Las Vegas, Mexico, Arizona and Hawaii, and had fond memories of Las Vegas trips with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Elaine Gutierrez.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, John Gutierrez, whom she married Dec. 26, 1962; daughter, Gloria (Robert) Aey of New Springfield; son, Raymond J. Gutierrez of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Roderick and Jakob Aey of Canfield, and Margaret Aey of Longmont, Colo.; aunt, Lucille Aguilar; and cousin, Gilbert Rodriguez of Youngstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry (Lupe) Losiewicz; brother, Henry Losiewicz; grandparents, John (Sarah) Aguilar; aunts, Ramona (Alfonso) Bosco and Jenny (Pete) Rodriguez; and uncles, John and David Aguilar.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
A private funeral service will be held for the family.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken. The 6-foot rule will be honored, and we kindly ask that all guests whose health allows, please wear a mask.
