Hope McClendon 1928-2020
YOUNGSTOWN — Mrs. Hope McClendon, 91, departed this life Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, at Hospice House in Poland.
Mrs. McClendon was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of Anderson and Rachael Dillard.
She was a high school graduate and had been employed at Brockway Glass. She belonged to Jehovah’s Witnesses of the East Campbell Congregation. She loved cooking and entertaining family and friends, and traveling.
Her late husband was Jessie McClendon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Christine (Julius) Sims of Youngstown; a son, Derek McClendon of Pittsburgh; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Ellis; and her siblings, Ellsworth, Edgar, Joe, Arthur, Donnie, Clyde, Gaylard, John and Doris.
A Memorial Service will be held via Zoom at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020.
Arrangements were entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
