Robert L. Zuti 1931-2020
YOUNGSTOWN — Robert L. Zuti, 89, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 23, 2020, at home.
Robert was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Youngstown. He was a son of Frank and Julia Toth Zuti.
He lived in this area his entire life. Robert was a Marine Corps veteran, serving two tours of duty in the Korean conflict.
He worked for the Ohio Edison Co. as supervisor, retiring after 41 years of dedicated service.
Robert and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and abroad and spending the winter months in their South Padre, Texas home. He enjoyed woodworking, was an excellent craftsman and loved spending time outdoors. He was an active YMCA member.
Robert is survived by his wife, Myrna Kilburn Zuti, whom he married May 3, 1957. Robert also leaves three daughters, Rebecca Zuti, Lori (Steven Shubella) Zuti and Lisa (Gary) Vitanye. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Timothy Taylor, Rachel Shubella and Zachary Shubella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Zuti; son-in-law, Tony Decello (Rebecca); and grandson, Damian Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
Due to the coronavirus restrictions, funeral services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Szabo and Sons Funeral Home.
