John M. Beard 1936-2020

Jack was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Youngstown, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Keosky Beard.

He was a graduate of Girard High School and he served in the Ohio Army National Guard.

Jack worked for Delphi Packard Electric as an electrician for 27 years, until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the International Union of Electrical Workers-CWA Local 717. Jackwas an avid golfer all his life and enjoyed traveling around the United States in his recreational vehicle.

He was happiest when working in his lush yard and beautiful gardens, and swapping stories with neighbors and friends. After retiring, he started walking every morning (no matter the weather) in Mill Creek Park,where he made many close friends.

Jack leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Irene Bogacki Beard, whom he married June 23, 1963; his daughter, Jennifer Beard of Boston, Mass.; his sister, Joyce Tochtenhagen of Florida; and his granddaughter, Zoe.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Brauer. His son, John, died suddenly, two days after his father, April 12, 2020.

Following the wishes of both father and son, funeral services will not be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
