Michael R. Pesce 1977-2020

LIBERTY — Michael R. Pesce, 42, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2020. We are sad to report that this is not a Mike Pesce joke.

Born Aug. 19, 1977, in Youngstown, Michael was a son of Robert “Bobby” and Betsy Jane Morrison Pesce and a lifelong member of the Youngstown community.

Michael was employed by the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a service and support administrator for seven years, and prior to that was employed by the Youngstown Developmental Center. But let’s not forget his first job as everyone’s favorite face at First Row Video.

Michael adored his daughters, his brother, sister, niece and the New Kids On The Block. He was a passionate concert and movie aficionado, loved the Cleveland Browns, Coca-Cola and the Beatles. His epic and off-beat sense of humor had a positive impact on everyone he crossed paths with.

Michael was a graduate of Ursuline High School Class of ’97 and Youngstown State University ’09.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory his precious daughters, Abbey and Julia; brother, Thomas (Kelly) Pesce and their daughter Mackenzie; sister, Michelle Pesce, all of Los Angeles; aunts, Suzanne (Alfred) Fleming and Debbie Pesce, all of Youngstown, Barbara (Bruce) Wilford of Ridgeville, Madonna (Paul) Alexander and Ruth Morrison, all of Columbus; uncles, Robert (Sherry) Morrison of Shelby Township, Mich., and Thomas Pesce of Youngstown; his former wife, Stacey Cleland; stepdaughters, Leah and Lindsey Cleland; his girlfriend, Jodi Broll; and his honorary stepfather, Michael Savage.

Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by many beloved grandparents, uncles and aunts.

The family will receive relatives and friends 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020, at St. Edward Church, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. There will be a communal celebration of life at 2 p.m. at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown 44509, and children (big and small) are encouraged to join.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to The Pesce Daughters, Abbey and Julia at the GoFundMe account www.gofundme. com/f/Michael-Pesce-family-support or to Michael’s brother, Thomas Pesce.
