Michael R. Moore 1934-2020

LOWELLVILLE — Michael R. Moore Sr., 85, of Bedford Road, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2020, in his home, surrounded by his family.

Michael was born July 2, 1934, in Youngstown, the son of John and Louise Geddert Moore. He grew up on the East Side.

“Mouse,” as he was known, attended East High School. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 377, and employed by this union for over 40 years.

Michael enjoyed his retirement and socializing with his friends. He was proud of his military service as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, whom he married Sept. 29, 1953; five children, his son, Michael Jr. (Darlene) of Lowellville and daughters Lisa Moore of Poland, Marie Brown (Gary) of Crowley, Texas, Vicki Lorubbio (Carmen) of Struthers, and Michelle Moore of Lowellville; seven grandchildren, Michael (Gina), Jennifer, Daniel, Aaron, Perry, Zachary and Nikki and two step-grandchildren, Giavanna and Carmen; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Micah, Kira and Giavanna; a sister, Mary Lou Davanzo; a brother, Robert (Elaine); many nieces and nephews; a dear friend, C.W.; and his loyal companion, Poncho.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Jack (Frances) and Geo (Margie).

The family would like to express their appreciation to everyone who provided comfort and support during this difficult time, including Dr. Armand Minotti, Southern Care Hospice and his hospice nurse, Anthony.
