Francis E. Brown 1949-2020
CITRA, Fla. — Francis E. “Skip” Brown, 70, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
He was born Oct. 7, 1949, in Youngstown, to the late William E. and Lillian A. Brown.
Skip was a fun-loving 1968 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Upon graduation, Skip joined the U.S. Marine Corp, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam, after which he suffered and persevered through a lifetime of PTSD.
Skip never lost his zest for life and traveled to Alaska and throughout the country visiting his old friends and Vietnam buddies on his Harley Davidson, until his last trip in 2018, when he was no longer able to do so.
Skip is survived by his beloved son, Mica Brown; his brother, William (Karen) Brown; sisters, Rebecca and Colleen Brown; his Aunt Sara (Tom) Smith; two nieces; and three nephews.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be spread at Pine Island in Ocklawaha River near his home, where the ashes of his much-loved companion dogs, Cocoa and Naomi, rest.
