Carolyn DeGeorge 1951-2020

Carolyn was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Youngstown, the daughter of Frank and Concetta Marchese DeGeorge.

Carolyn, who was lovingly referred to as Carol, mom, aunt, grandma, nana and mama, enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. Since one of her meals could feed several families, Carol frequently invited friends and extended family to her home for a meal. If someone was unable to attend, she would send leftovers. She greatly enjoyed sitting and talking at the table with her frequent visitors (friends and family). One would visit her as a stranger or acquaintance and leave a friend or loved one. Her heart was even larger than her meals.

Carol will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, Michael Decker, whom she married Sept. 11, 1999; five children, David (Christine) Madick, Deric (Tiffany) Madick, Candace (Michael) Hsu, Jeramy (Ashley) Eckenrode and Joseph Eckenrode; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Elena DeGeorge; and three brothers, Francis (Melody) DeGeorge, James (Angel) DeGeorge and Robert DeGeorge.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Dione Madick; sister, Patricia (Richard) Jones; and sister-in-law, Margaret DeGeorge.

Loved ones may call 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.

There will also be a prayer service immediately following the calling hours.
