Julia E. Hinton, 1927-2019

Mrs. Hinton was born July 13, 1927, in Chatham, Va., a daughter of Virgus and Rebecca Myers Lipford.

She was a former security guard and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and playing bingo.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Elizabeth ( William) Scott; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by her husband, John Hinton; and a brother, James Lipford.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
